The OC Air Show returns to Ocean City in 2019 for it’s 12th year in a row. The U.S. Navy Blue Angels will return to Ocean City and will headline the two day event.
A Blue Angels performance exhibits the flying skills that all naval aviators possess. The team’s C-130; also know as Fat Albert will begin each demonstration. Fat Albert’s 10 minutes performance showcases the aircraft’s maximum-performance capabilities. Following Fat Albert’s performance the team’s six F/A-18 Hornet’s soar overhead. The Blue Angel delta formation enters from behind the crowd and announce themselves with the “sound of freedom!” The Blue Angel performance showcases the graceful aerobatic maneuvers of the four-jet diamond formation together with the fast-paced, and high-performance maneuvers of two Solo pilots. Finally, the conclusion of the performance brings together all six F-18s when the solos join the diamond and perform in the six-jet Delta formation. The wing tips of the Blue Angel jets are less than 3 feet apart in the diamond and delta formations.
